Village Missionaries,

While Peace Haven ministers to many pastors and missionaries, our primary calling is to encourage you! Peace Haven’s founders, the Waylands, were Village Missionaries. The Kramers, Peace Haven directors, are presently Village Missionaries. Our other team members, the Canadys, Jacobys , Sallees, and Silvers are retired Village Missionaries.

Below is a video in which Drs. Kris and Joyce Kramer (Peace Haven Directors) discuss rural ministry stress and burn out. They also give some helps to deal with it.



Here are some ministries especially for you as a Village Missionary:

  • Peace and Rest Haven - VM couples or families can come for a vacation. (Cleaning fees: $90 for Peace Haven; $180 for Rest Haven.)

  • Crisis care at Peace or Rest Haven - We will work with your District Representative to set up a plan that can help you to find emotional and spiritual renewal. If you are coming as part of a crisis leave, you are welcome to request travel assistance by emailing peacehaven1996@gmail.com.

  • Counseling guidance - We can help you find a Christian counselor (either online or in-person) and give guidance regarding Village Missions financial arrangements for the sessions.

  • In person rest leave counseling while at Peace/Rest Haven.

  • Balanced Life Conferences for newer Village Missionaries and wives. This conference helps to access your ministry and learn new ways to better handle stress.

  • Balanced Life Online - A monthly one hour online meeting for Village Missionaries with Kris as the host. This meeting includes instruction and discussion. Topics include “How to deal with stress”, “How to handle criticism”, ”“How to work with problem people”, etc. Email Kris at peacehaven1996@gmail.com if you’re interested in joining a group.

  • Parsonage Refresh Project - As a Village Missionary living in a church parsonage, you can apply for financial and mission team help to do repairs. Simply email Peace Haven and we will send you a link to an application for help.

  • VM Alumni Retreat - For VMers who are about 1 to 2 years away from retirement. Village Missions will pay your travel expenses (i.e. airfare, rental car) to come to Peace Haven for a week of refection and envisioning your next chapter. Ron and Marilyn Sallee and Drs. Kris and Joyce Kramer will meet with you on two separate days to encourage you and give you guidance.

  • Prayer - You can give us your confidential prayer requests at any time and you can be assured we will pray for you.
