FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: Where is Camano Island? About an hour and half north of Seattle, Washington, in the Puget Sound area.

Q: How much does it cost to stay at one of your Camano Island houses? There is no charge. We have generous donors who love pastors and missionaries. (See cleaning fee info under “To Reserve” tab.)

Q: What airports are near to Camano Island? In the U.S.A - Seattle, Everett and Bellingham. In Canada - Vancouver and Abbotsford, B.C.

Q: When will we get the address and other check-in information for Peace/Rest Haven? We send an “arrival” email prior to a guest’s arrival. It will give the address, door code, etc.

Q: Do we have to take a ferry to get to Camano Island? No. There is a short bridge to Camano Island.

Q: What is the maximum amount of sleeping accommodations for guests at Peace Haven? Four, but it will be tight. You would need to bring bedding or sleeping bags for two of them. We have two inflatable mattresses.

Q: What is the maximum amount of sleeping accommodations for guests at Rest Haven? Nine. Three guests would need to bring bedding or sleeping bags to sleep on the futon or inflatable mattresses.

Q: What time can we arrive at Peace/Rest Haven? Anytime after 4 PM on your arrival day.

Q: What time should we check out? By 10 AM on your departure day.

Q; How do we check in? Both houses are self check-in. You will be emailed a door code prior to your visit.

Q: Do we need to clean the house before we leave? No. We have housekeepers. There will be a “Check Out” list for you to complete upon departing.

Q: Do we need to bring bedding or towels? No. We provide bedding and towels.

Q: Do we need to bring pots, pans, etc.? No, we have all you need for the kitchen.

Q: Do the houses have internet? Yes

Q; Can we stream movies? Yes, every TV has a Roku or Google streaming.

Q: Can we use the fire pit between the two houses? Yes, wood and marshmallow sticks are next to the brown shed.

Q: Is there a washer and dryer in the houses? Yes

Q: Do you have bicycles? Rest Haven does. You will need to bring your own helmets.

Q: Is there a bar-b-que? Yes, both houses have propane bar-b-ques.

Q: Are the Peace Haven houses and property an “alcohol and smoke free zone”? Yes

Q: Are pets allowed? Pets are not allowed.

Q: Is there a grocery store nearby? Yes. There is an IGA Store six miles from Peace/Rest Haven.

Q: What are some good churches to attend on Camano Island? Camano Chapel, Island Baptist Church and Island Christian Fellowship (Calvary Chapel)

Q: What’s the best place to get coffee on the island? Camano Commons Marketplace (https://camanocommons.com). Take your coffee up to the loft and enjoy the art.

Q: Where’s the best ice cream? Elgar Bay Store and Cafe (where the locals go.)

Q: What are some good restaurants in the area? Fish and Chips - Tapped Public House on Camano Island // Italian - Jimmy’s in Stanwood // Mexican - Ixtapa in Stanwood

Q: What’s the best beach on Camano? Iverson Beach (sandy, driftwood, shallow water)

Q: What’s the best day trip? Walk on the ferry at Anacortes and go to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island for lunch.
